Women are still underrepresented in the field of technology. This is why Technology News Bytes and The Pacific Technology Foundation are honoring those women who have overcome many challenges and reached the pinnacle of the industry in Hawaii.

To recognize an outstanding woman in technology in the State of Hawaii for her career achievements, leadership roles, and community service.

All nominees must be:
• A past Tech Leader Of The Year recipient of Hawaii’s High-Tech Leader awards
• Active professionals in their current organization for a minimum of two (2) years
• High achievers who hold positions of major responsibility in their organization
• Supporters of attracting and promoting women in technology
• Recognized leaders in their community for their contributions to Hawaii’s technology industry through professional organizations
• Dedicated individuals who give back to the community through service in volunteer organizations
• Recognized by co-workers and colleagues for their lifelong commitment to excellence
• Nominations are accepted from public and private institutions. Self-nominations and third-party nominations are also accepted

The award for the 2008 Technology Industry Award will be presented at the 8th Annual Flavors of Technology Awards Gala to be held in the fall of 2008. Date and location tbd. A panel of judges will review all nominations for the final list of awardees.
